Description
This rococo service from Franz Anton Bustelli's creative period was the first “Elector's Court Service” from the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg. Since it was frowned upon at the time to use fresh flowers as decorations at the table - they could wither during the meal - in 1765 Joseph Zaechenberger designed a colourful and festive painting in 1765 with flower bouquets, individual flowers, butterflies and insects, framed by a fine gold lace edge. CUMBERLAND is still considered to be the world's most elaborate floral decoration that is still made on porcelain: It takes a painter up to three weeks to paint a single plate.
