Nymphenburg majolica is unique in the world. For around 160 years, the manufactory has been producing majolica figures and tiles by hand using traditional methods. For majolica, the terracotta is coated with a white tin glaze after the first firing and painted with bright colours that melt during the subsequent firing and allow the reddish background to shine through. Durable and frost-resistant! Thanks to the high firing temperature as well as the development of special colours and glazes, Nymphenburg has succeeded in guaranteeing extraordinary weather resistance of its majolica. The unusual size and bright colours are also among the special characteristics of the Nymphenburg majolica, which is unrivaled internationally.
