Originally, the decorative brocade trimming was intended as an homage to the lavishly colourful floral Cumberland decor. The viewer's gaze is focused on the golden edge which is a particularly elaborate graphic detail of the historical design from 1765. The brocade trimming, in gold or platinum depending on the customer's wishes, requires fine skills and the highest precision. After applying the fine gold or platinum ornaments, the piece is fired and then polished by hand with agate or bloodstone tools.
